所以在寫這一篇時特別去查詢WIKI的資料，WIKI上頭說：Africa Day is the annual commemoration on May 25 of the 1963 founding of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU). On this day, leaders of 30 of the 32 independent African states signed a founding charter in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.[1] In 1991, the OAU established the African Economic Community, and in 2002 the OAU established its own successor, the African Union. However, the name and date of Africa Day has been retained as a celebration of African unity.[2] 2012's theme of Africa Day is "Africa and the Diaspora." The New York celebration was held in New York City on May 31, 2011. In Nairobi, it was celebrated at Uhuru Park Recreational Park. It should also be noted that Africa Day is observed as a public holiday in only five African countries, that is, Ghana ,[3] Mali, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe. However, celebrations are held in some African countries, as well as by Africans in the diaspora. (看懂了嗎？)
就是說紀念在1963年成立的非洲統一組織，32個獨立國中30個領袖在衣索比亞首都簽署的憲章。
總感覺在台灣的我們對於其他國家與地區的資訊都是不夠足夠，抑或是我自己看的資料與書不夠廣，所以不是很了解這些訊息。
這一天Wits語言學校也辦了一些活動讓所有的學生老師參與，來自非洲其他國家的學生參與的比較多，他們需要帶來他們國家的特色食物，請其他同學嘗試，還有邀請舞蹈團體來表演傳統的非洲舞蹈等等。
活動一開始全部的老師都出來跟大家打招呼。
照片中這位是上一期教課我的老師Jeni，她是很有耐心也很認真教學的老師，在聽力與說的部分讓我受益良多。
另外這位嘟嘴的是我念二級時下午課的老師Heidi，但是她是教三級的老師上課很風趣，聽說也很嚴格。
再來這一位是當時念四級時的老師Paula，也是相當認真的老師，我個人感覺她文法部分教的特別好，讓我很容易懂。
教室兩側插滿非洲國家的國旗，能認得出的國旗真的不超過三個以上。
同學們都在旁邊等待活動開始。
活動開始時幾位學校職員長官說明了Africa Day與為何辦這個活動。當時沒聽得很懂，畢竟聽力還是有限。

活動開始第一段表演是邀請來學校表演的舞蹈團體，展現出力與美的精彩表演。
接下來是非洲國家的同學們表演的特別編排的舞蹈
後面還是傳統的非洲舞蹈表演很精彩
然後又是同學們的表演還有我在二級時的老師Bright與他的朋友的精彩舞蹈。
這就是參與Africa Day活動的精彩花絮，當然這些活動都是在上課後(通常是一堂課或兩堂課之後)舉辦的課外活動，真的是不錯的體驗。
